I think the skill is pretty good don't get me wrong, but sometimes what players will do to get big numbers comes at cost.

Meh, j/k. It's conditional, largely - depends on the type of boss.

You should see what Pain inverter and a few hero/hench warriors do when impossible odds is up.
Yes, Pain inverter works well against the scariest bosses. Any boss that does big AoE, PI just slaughters them.

Unfortunately, there's not a "best boss killer", it depends on what kind of boss you're fighting. If a boss does massive AoE damage, or lots of damage quickly, Pain Inverter is one of the best ways to drop them. If not, spoil victor is probably better. If the boss is a healer, pain inverter is useless and spoil victor is only useful if they have something besides themselves to heal. In this case, I like [skill]Spiteful Spirit[/skill] + [skill]Backfire[/skill], or a good interrupt build of any type.

Pain Inventer kills bosses easily the fastest, though conditional, it's simply the best boss killer out there, hands down.

Best boss killer?
Lemme see... For non-healer non-AoE bosses it's [skill]Spoil Victor[/skill]
for healer bosses it's a couple of two skills, first one is more effective [skill]Backfire[/skill] [skill]Spiteful Spirit[/skill]
for AoE bosses (they dont rely on too much spellcasting) it is and will always be from now on Pain Inverter.
These are the 3 categories of bosses. All boss-like foes go in too (Shiro\Lich - AoE, Pain inverter The Hunger/Roscale - Single attack, Spoil Victor. U can think of healer bosses urself, enough in game).
If some bosses are E/Mo for example, chose what they have most in (thinking of hierophant Burntsoul = more nuke, less heal)

to me it looks like your scenario is a rare one. Pain Inverter wont work like that in every situation. In that situation you had ideal conditions for pain inverter to be most efficient.
